Made By Meg: Chef Meg Hall’s Yogurtland Recipes
On Monday December 9th, 2013, we invited local chef Meg Hall of Made By Meg Catering in Redondo Beach, to our Yogurtland Store in Torrance, at Village Del Amo. After discovering that Chef Meg was an avid Yogurtland Fan, we wanted to collaborate with her on exciting new recipes with our real frozen yogurt.
We invited our VIP fans to enjoy the educational experience (along with complimentary tastings of Chef Meg’s recipes of course!) Our crowd was filled with an eclectic range of customers – some with gluten allergies, some who needed to watch their sugar intake, and of course, those who wanted to count their calories!
Everyone enjoyed hearing Chef Meg talk about Yogurtland frozen yogurt, and discovering that our yogurt is made from real ingredients, with no high fructose corn syrup or corn syrup. Many of our yogurt flavors are gluten free or non-fat, and we always keep a dairy-free sorbet on hand for those who are lactose intolerant, as well as no-sugar added (NSA) options. Meg loves Yogurtland’s flavors because they taste like real dairy, sweet and creamy.
Chef Meg created two fantastic recipes. The first was “Green Energy” where she combined Pistachio and Coffee yogurt and topped them with Nilla wafers and NSA chocolate bits. The nutty, sweet, earthy flavor of the pistachio is a great compliment to the coffee flavor, which contains real Sumatran and Columbian Coffee. This is a perfect healthy alternative to a coffee and pastry!
The second recipe’s inspiration came from the delectable dessert, blueberry cheesecake. This scrumptious recipe was made with our New York Cheesecake yogurt, (made with real cream cheese) and our high-antioxidant Blueberry Tart yogurt. Chef Meg then sweetened this with buttery white chocolate chip topping. Both recipes were real crowd pleasers!
